About Us
The purpose of Brooklyn Rescue Mission Inc. is to service individuals and families in Central Brooklyn, in need of a healthy lifestyle both physically and spiritually, with healthy food, nutritional information and health education services.

Brooklyn Rescue Mission has received an award 2006 for religious community service from the Bed-Stuy Development Corp., 2006 Partners in Transformation award semi- finalist for outstanding efforts in services to deep pockets of poverty and the 2005 Osborn Elliot Community Leadership Award at the New Yorker for New York Awards from Citizens for NYC.
Rev. Robert Jackson and Rev. DeVanie Jackson, Co-founders of the Brooklyn Rescue Mission serve as members of various task-forces, committees and community collaborations. Some of the committees and task forces include: the Bed-Stuy Provider Network, a collaboration of food pantries and soup kitchens in Bedford-Stuyvesant. Community District (CB# 3) Community Emergency Response Team CERT team members and are members of the Central Brooklyn Task Force on Food and Fitness.
